If anyone is planning a trip to the Chiang Mai area and needs information, please feel free to post to the Chiang Mai / Chiang Rai forum.  I live in this area now and would be happy to answer questions the best that I can.  If you have never been in Northern Thailand, well come on up.  It\'s beautiful, mountainous, and cooler than Korat.   :)

Thanks. We never know, maybe some "Isaan" members will visit you!
Our website has actually pretty good information about Chiangrai. I went myself twice, and many times in Chiangmai.

Another Dan, Canadian Dan, wrote most of the articles about Chiangrai.
You will find info about some hotels, guesthouses, bars, restaurants and attractions.

I have a friend in Chiangmai who also used to live in Korat. A Dutch guy.
He should write some articles soon.

I love the north of Thailand.

If you can, try the restaurant in Chiangmai that is on the picture attached. Most tuk tuk drivers know it. It's in the old city, inside the moats. VERY good place.

Yeah, that\'s the Huen Phen restaurant on Rachamankha Road.  It\'s just up the street from a bar/restaurant that an Aussie friend of mine owns called The Prirates Cove.

I\'ll have to give it a try sometime.

Hummm.  I never really gave it any thought, but seeing that I\'m formally retired, I could start writing reviews of Chiang Mai.  As in Korat, I live in the Thai community and not the Farang community in Chiang Mai.  As such, I know places off the normal \"tourist maps\" that are definitely interesting.

I might start with the \"Best Pad Thai Restaurant in Northern Thailand\".  I\'ll have to give this some thought.  :cheer:
