Open everyday from 07:00 to 24:00.

Thai and foreign food at a reasonable price range (60-180 B); beers, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks. Pool table, 20 B per game. Free Internet (old equipment, slow connection when we visited). Street Lamp works also as a guesthouse and offers some of the cheapest rates in town, starting from 150 B for a single room.

Live music every night from 20:00 to closing time. Mostly Western rock and folk old-timers from the 1960’s and ’70s, by talented solo performers. The guy in the picture on this page was singing in French. The lady was a truly frenzied, swaying performer.

Street Lamp opened in 2004 (formerly known as Ayudhaya Backpacker). It is located in the popular farang street or backpackers street, day and night meeting place for foreign tourists and residents in Ayutthaya. It can accommodate about 60 customers, partly outdoor and partly under cover. Customers are especially, but not only, foreign tourists staying at Street Lamp or in nearby guesthouses, and foreign residents in Ayutthaya. Thai people fond of good live music also appreciate coming here.

We had a small Chang beer for only 45 B.

For similar places in the same street, see also Moon Café, Chang House and Tony’s Place.
