Khao Soi is one of my favorite Thai food. It is a soup from Northern Thailand, that can have pork, chicken with a mild curry. It has noddles and crispy pork skin (I think). It is also serve normally with lemon and some marinated vegetables. It’s the perfect lunch.

Nakhon Ratchasima being far from Chiangmai, you don’t have many places with Khai Soi. For years, I used to go to Baan Sanphan in the small soi beside Toyata (front of Bangkok hospital). But recently, I discovered a fantastic place near my house : Yokponkhunnok. It means something like “bringing people to the land” in English. It is located in front of a car wash in a small soi. You will find it on Google map at:

Be careful, it is only for lunches and closes around 4pm.

I go there once per 2 weeks and always have the same : Khao Soi Gai (chicken – 60 baht) and Pepsi (15 baht). And that is fine for me. Here’s that is looks like:

Khao Soi Gai (Chicken for 60 baht)

The menu has also items like juice with marijuana… but I didn’t try.
